What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you're wearing. So, you can smile more during treatment as well as after. Why would I want Invisalign®?

Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are no problem. They are also comfortable, with no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment. And no metal and wires usually means you spend less time at Dr. Andolino's office getting adjustments. Which is great because that also means spending less time in New York City traffic!!

Invisalign also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.

How does Invisalign® work?

You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move - little by little, week by week - until they have straightened to their final positions. You'll visit us about once every six weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages 9-15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.

Hello there! My name is Stephanie and I live in Midtown East. My Invisalign treatment, all though short, has been a very exciting process. When I was a child I had braces for 2 years and when I finished and they were taken off, my orthodontist at the time told me I had to wear my retainers. I failed to do so and my teeth became crooked again, and my parents were mad at me.

Since my teeth had shifted, I was never pleased with my smile. So this past year I decided to try again with the new Invisalign system. When I first had the Invisalign aligners put on I was nervous that speaking was going to be difficult, but I was proven wrong and the aligners fit so accurately to my teeth that it literally felt like they were a part of my teeth. Yes, the first couple of hours I did feel the aligners because my teeth were starting to shift in to their proper space but it wasn’t as near painful as when I had my braces adjusted when I was a kid.

Being able to see the ClinCheck video on the Invisalign website and see how my teeth would be moving with each aligner change, I couldn’t have been more excited. Dr. Andolino, Melissa and Sunny all helped me in the process by making sure I was wearing my aligners and would send an email reminder on the days I was supposed to change into the new set. I now have 2 aligners left and I am so pleased with how smooth the process was and of course with my new straight beautiful smile!
